Movie Review: The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

Well, its been a few days since I saw the latest chapter of The Bourne Legacy. And I can say, I'm not dissapointed. This movie had the potential to lose steam after having been made and released so long after the previous Bourne Supremacy.

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) is still in pursuit of his identity and his journey takes him around the world from London to Madrid to Morrocco to New York City. Along the way, he dodges bullets punches and the pursuits of his creators pretty much like your typical action hero story only there's less cheesy dialogue and more geek talk and just as many shaky cam asskicking and 'splosions!

Here's a quick overview of my personal comments and observations.

> Matt Damon will always be Bourne to me. Even if he wears glesses and whines like a 5year old to his mom he still looks tough.
> Joan Allen just got better in this one because her role is more substantial.
> Julia Stiles (who I have always had a crush on)still has a small role, but gives us a hint on why she is important to the Bourne story.
>David Strathairn (Good Night and Good Luck)gives us probably the best antagonist in the franchise.

All in all it's a great escape movie for all the stunts and car crashes, but it also has brains, just like the first ones. It may be considered a thinking man's action movie, but it doesnt really need a lot of brain power on your part to be absorbed completely. It still, however gives you a sense that you didn't havw to check your brain at the door.
